I’ve been casually selling things from my home for awhile now. It started with Mercari, selling clothes that didn’t fit me anymore. If you’re anything like me, you can’t approach these types of endeavors with any sense of calm or, sometimes, rational thought. I go all in. Selling on Mercari, I watched all the videos to make sure that I was selling well and getting good ratings. I wanted people to feel confident in their purchase with me.
I wrapped every piece of clothing with tissue paper, sealing it with a heart-shaped thank you sticker before slipping it into a colorful poly mailer. I purchased half-sheet sticker labels to print with my inkjet printer as well. This made my life pretty easy.
I recently started selling on Etsy and I knew that this label printing method would work for awhile. But if things eventually increased, and I hope that they do, I would need something different.
As part of my plan to help pay down my debt, I decided to sell all my OwlCrate and Bookish pins aside from a few that feel nice. That still leaves A LOT to sell. There was a lot of interest on the community and in preparation, I went all in again. I purchased the bubble mailers that would perfectly fit the pins, but keep shipping costs low. But this time, I bought the shipping label printer. Let me tell you, it was the best purchase! This thermal printer creates shipping labels so fast and so well.
No more accidental printing of the shipping label on the wrong side of the paper. No more worrying about if I have ink in my printer. I just downloaded the PDF from Pirate Ship and uploaded it to the Printer app and hit print and it was there. It was magical.
